SGMS uses a small set of cookies and similar storage so you can stay signed in. Optional performance measurement only runs if you allow it.
Essential
These are needed for the site to work. The consent banner cannot turn them off.
- Session and CSRF cookies from next-auth so you can log in and stay logged in
- A local preference that remembers this cookie choice
- Google reCAPTCHA on login, register, and password reset when those keys are configured. That is a security check, not advertising.
Optional
Vercel Speed Insights measures how the site performs. It is off until you choose "Allow performance" on the banner. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time: (also in the footer).
In the SGMS Android app (since September 28, 2026) there is no banner: performance measurement is allowed by default. You can switch it off the same way, from "Cookie settings" in the footer, and the app keeps that choice.
Embedded video
Lesson videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube receives your IP address when a lesson page loads the player and may store data in your browser once you play a video. This is needed to show the lesson, so it is not controlled by the banner.
What we do not use
- Advertising cookies
- A marketing email list
- Social plugins that track you across other sites
Third parties
- Hosting: Vercel
- Database: MySQL via Prisma
- Optional cache and chat fan-out: Redis
- Optional media: Cloudinary
- Email delivery: the SMTP host configured for the operator
- Security: Google reCAPTCHA when keys are set
- Lesson video: YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode)
